W. T. Cooper was a North Ft Worth saloonist. Mr Cooper single handedly stopped a run on the bank in N. Ft Worth. Bank failure rumors were floating around and to squelch the bank run Mr Cooper loaded all the money out of his vault into a wheelbarrow. Holstering his two pearl handle six shooters he pushed the wheel barrow full of money down the middle of main street to the bank and calmed all fears of a bank run.

The Maverick saloon operated by Porter & Robinson in 1907 was located on the SE corner of N.Main and Exchange in North Fort Worth. The building is still called the Maverick and the saloon bar is still present. Today it is a western clothing store in the famous Stockyards district of Fort Worth.
